Something Russian This Time

Now that I have finished the Book of Fate by Brad Meltzer, I have picked up from the paper bag of books (where I kept the books that I borrowed) the book Lolita. This was written by Vladmir Nabokov, a Russian writer who lived in the US. This is the first time that I will read something from a Russian. Kinda looking forward to it.

After being disappointed with the Book of Fate, I am hoping that this will bring something new to the table. Something where I could learn something new.

Here Comes July

Today is July 1. I should be taking my Salesforce consultant certification anytime now. Yikes. Haven't really preparing myself for it. However I have stepped up and said to management that I will be taking it on the first week of July.

Let's cram... hehehe

A Bump On The Road

I am scared again. Scared of what might happen. I do not want to blog any detail of what I might think may happen. This is not the place. The reason for my saying this is the effect that may result from it. I love having some goals that I look forward to achieving. With the possible onslaught of stresses and problems might stop me from continuing with my goals. I just hope that I will keep myself strong for the coming storm. May God help me.

Salesforce Certification Part 2

I have talked it over with my boss that I will be taking my second Salesforce certification by the first week of July. It is time that I should give myself a deadline for this. I should not prolong the agony of reviewing.

Now that I have my date set. I now have the motivation that should allow me to target the goal of becoming a certified Salesforce consultant. That should bring me up a level in my company when I get to achieve this. So time to work on this life project.

On Track

It feels good to be back. Bringing myself back on the health wagon is one great idea that I haven't had for a long long time. It is good to feel this fit again. I feel my blood pressure returning to normal (although I haven't checked it). I liked that I am watching my diet again. I have been avoiding calorie laden drinks and sticking to water. It is great that there is this water drink now available commericially that has a bit of fruity taste. It takes care of my sweet cravings. More so, it has L-Carnatine that will help me shed off the fat that I have accumulated for the past months. I have bought yogurts as my snacks. It is also great that there are now a number of new flavors to choose from. It just shows that the market is now aware that a lot of people want to become healthy. One just has to be smart to see through marketing gimmicks and know what really is good for the health.

I have made one big step on my fitness project. I need to keep this up even when my work schedule changes. I want myself to remember this feeling, the feeling of going on the right health track. Keep it up.

6 Books Down

Wow, 6 books in two months. I think that is a record for me. I have never gone through that number of books so quickly before. Not to mention that the books that I read were not short ones. I just would like to give myself a pat on the back for a job well done.

I would also like to thank my friends for lending me their books. It would be a quite expensive hobby if I would buy new books. I could only afford books on sale right now. :)

Six Pack Abs, Here I Come

Reading through the Men's Health forum really inspires me to continue with my healthy project. Knowing that a lot of people goes through the same goal as you makes you want to achieve it more. I sure do hope that I cam keep this momentum going. I am afraid that once I return to my normal work shift, I won't be able to continue this. So by blogging this down, I will give myself the motivation to keep on going.

Hmmm.. let me list down some tips for myself. Tips that I should do when I feel that I am slipping from my goal. Let me call it - 5 Ways to Keep Motivated:

1. Read this blog 5 times.
2. Read the Belly Off stories in the Men's Health Philippines forum and be inspired by their stories. http://www.menshealth.com.ph/board/index.php?board=7.0
3. Drink 2 glasses of water.
4. Open the Log spreadsheet.
5. Do 3 sets of crunches or 1 minute plank.

Ok, I think this is a good start. I should blog any progress that I made so as not to lose sight of my goal.

Go, go, go!

Time For Some Mystery

Done with the Generation X book. Didn't get it why they are comparing it to the Catcher in the Rye. There is no story that I could get out from it. Well, it just might be its style. Maybe if I find some study guide...

Anyway, time for another book. Let us go popular this time. Take a break from those modern classics. I picked up Brad Meltzer's "The Book of Fate". From its summary, it is kinda like a Dan Brown's novel, The Lost Symbol. I hope that it is better than Dan's book.

Write It On Stone

Dedication. It has been a long time since I had one. I have not given my health that much of an importance lately. Sure, I have been going to the gym when my schedule allows me. But my dedication ends when my workout ends. I have thrown caution in the wind in terms of what I feed myself. I could blame the stress and the problems for my lack of control. But I should have not let it affect me that way. So now I am reacquianting myself with dedication.

As I have mentioned in previous blog, my health is one of my project. This is one project that will last through out my lifetime. A project that I should not take for granted, a project that I should keep going. This blog will serve as a reminder for me to continue whenever I fall off the wagon.

I have been receiving email newsletters from the Men's Health group. The tips that they gave are always very useful. The problem is that I do not take them by heart. I'll just read through it and not put them in practice. Well now, that has to change. I will start applying their advices to my life and hopefully see results.

As a start, I need to do the following:
- eat slowly
- avoid sodas, juices and other sugary drinks
- drink lots of water

After I have made these a part of my routine, I will do more changes that will lead me to a healthier me.

Wish me luck.
